What does "Godhead" mean?
By Michael A. H. Back

In many translations, Colossians 2:9 reads, "The fullness of the Godhead
dwells in Him bodily."

What does that mean, the "Godhead" dwells in him bodily?

Godhead originally meant (at the time the KJV was translated) "that which is divine." In Modern English, the Greek word translated "Godhead" in the KJV would be better translated "absolute divinity."

So Colossians 2:9 should read:
"All the fullness of absolute divinity dwells in him bodily."

What a bold, undeniable statement about the deity of Jesus!
