Do All Speak With Tongues?
By Michael A. H. Back

Paul asks a number of questions in I Corinthians 12: 29-31, including "Do all speak with tongues?" Does the text indicate the answer to these questions should be "yes," or "no"? How do you know?

In Greek, you can construct "yes or no" questions in such a way that they are rhetorical, and the answer is built in to the question (starting the question with the Greek word "me" indicates no, starting it with the Greek word "ou" indicates
yes). In these verses, Paul starts each question, including the question about "tongues," with "me" which means the answer to each and every one is NO!
